According to Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein, writers are encouraged to use the “entering the conversation” model. This model is beneficial because it adds context and thus gives the reader an idea as to what the writer will be talking about. In addition, it helps the writer observe each side of the argument in what the two groups believe in so that the writer can write about it in order to express his/her belief.

The use of artwork does indeed help people analyze other situations because each person has a different perspective which can be useful. As shown in the “How Art Can Help You Analyze” video, people with different positions tend to look at an artwork differently because they can see details that not others may not.

According to Gerald Graff and Cathy Birkenstein, writers should use the model of ” Entering the Conversation” in their writing. The “They say/ I say” format helps writers expand their thinking and interpret their own claim and counterclaim. Once the reader can get a general idea of what you are talking about this will allow the reader to agree or disagree based on your reasoning/evidence. Being able to state your claim and analyzing different point of views your argument will be more credible. Just like a conversation you start of with a idea and build off someone’s else responses for example someone may say abortion should be allowed under certain circumstances and goes on with the reasons and other person will respond and say I agree with you but killing a fetus after certain amount of weeks shouldn’t be allowed and this conversation will keep going causing a debate.

Learning to look at artwork help us analyze other situations from the smarthistory videos because you see your point of view and can translate your view to others even though someone else may have a different perception. Looking at the artwork can also help you with communication skills by asking questions and solving real world problems.

good morning, My name is Lauren Padilla I am in the pre clinical phase of vet techs my major. I have three children and I am a single parent.I am of Spanish I like to read and spend time with my children as my hobbies. Im hoping to provide more stability for my kids that is why I am in college.

Hey everyone my name is Jane. I was born and raised in New York City, I’ve been living here my entire life. Im 25 years of age and raised in Harlem. This is my first year into college and I am majoring in Criminal Justice so later on I can become either a K9 Officer or State Trooper.  When I am not in school or working the things I love to do is spend time with my family, read, do outside exercises or activities that involves nature.I love to cook at home a lot so I can binge watch some of my fav shows. Despite these strange times I’m very excited to begin my semester and see all the obstacles I will need to face during my college years.

Greg’s Introduction

Greetings everyone, my name is Grzegorz Bielen but feel free to just call me Greg. I’m originally from Poland but I’ve been living in New York City. I’m a US Army Veteran, had the pleasure of traveling around Europe. I’m currently majoring in Network Administration & Information Security. Outside of school I enjoy playing video games with friends, snowboarding, and painting (not that I’m any good at it). I recently got into self-help books and i’ve been enjoying them. Writing about anything and using “I say,” the person is giving their own theory about   something, but isn’t giving anything else to support that theory. Some readers will          understand what the writer is talking about, but might still wonder how factual it is because of the lack of supporting evidence. Opposed to when the writer is stating a theory and could give supporting examples from other people (they say) in their statement, so that the reader can agree and relate to what the writer is saying.

When looking at art, some might only see what’s physically there, and say, “oh that’s     nice” and move on to the other, not fully understanding the depths and beauty of it. On the contrary, one can look at an art piece, and it can take that person to another level of admiration with how meticulous the artist did his work. It can also make one understand and see the different types of symbolism that has been articulated in the art.

Agree to Understand

The Advantages of Gerald Graft and Cathy Birkenstein  model is to give the writer a clear path in writing, it helps  the writer flow ideas and thought flow more  freely through fundamental stages of writing.  It also helps with having clear and concise comprehension, understanding and arguing with a difference also agreeing and dis-agreeing with the reasons of the writer.   This helps the writer with a good introduction to properly write on the conversation by understanding what was said and not deviating from the topic  thus this makes the write express one self clearer.

 

Understanding the ways of writing from making a mental picture of what ones sees, hears or smells, might be somewhat difficult for many but with the knowledge of putting into perspective of what is in front of you is easy on the mind. It allows idea to flow freely. Being able to see and touch the Art allows you to peruse the details of the Art, the age the shape, the color, the meaning and reasons of the Art, this allows the writer to agree or  dis-agree with the artist concept of the Art.

  1.   Entering the conversation is helpful because you understand the main idea of why the conversation is important  it can help you fined something to write about ,things that are relatable to you and help you express interest  in your opinions . Also  makes what you write more interesting and not boring .This also can help you get your point across. it may help with something to write about .It can make the readers understand were your coming from .and make it more relatable to the viewer. and makes what your writing more interesting  and enjoyable to read.

2.  I agree that looking  at art work helps us understand other situation because it helps you  have a better  understanding of what you see ,It is important in everything you do .It can make you see what you  did not see  before . and to better analyze things  you see .and pay more attention  to details . Its a  very important  skill for any career . it makes you think more and ask more question  and have better understanding of the situation . Also ,can make you see what you were not looking for and make you pay attention to the real world from a new point of view.

Ismanol introduction

          Hi, my name is Ismanol and I am majoring in criminal justice. Looking forward to getting my two years degree in LAGCC. I have some hobbies that I practice in my free time, they are cycling, photography,skating,reading and motorcycle rides. In the near future I would like to visit some other countries because I love to learn about new cultures. Indeed I love to talk about human behavior and debate certain iams about it. I think there is not a dream impossible to achieve, it’s like if you can dream you can make it. I’m going to college not with the purpose of getting a good job in the future, my idea with this is that you can educate yourself and become a better human being therefore, my compromise is to become more intelligent with everything that I  can learn in my journal in life. But at the end of the day the most important thing is to love yourself first and the you will be able to give love to other.
